Invisalign in Dallas, TX

Invisalign is an alternative to traditional braces. It uses clear, transparent plastic to treat mild degrees of misalignment and malocclusion. How Invisalign differs from traditional braces is that your Invisalign is made to be custom-fitted to fit you. It is also removable, making it easier for your Invisalign dentists to gradually align teeth into a better position. In most cases, it is often used to treat misaligned teeth, gaps between teeth, crowded teeth, and bite issues. Invisalign is made with a high-quality, transparent material that is hardly noticeable compared to traditional metal braces. Being made from a more flexible material, it is mainly used to treat mild cases of teeth misalignment. If you’re suffering from a more severe case of misalignment, your dentists may recommend using traditional metal braces instead.

How does Invisalign treatment work?

Invisalign treatment procedure begins with a thorough x-ray imaging of your teeth. It will provide your dentists with a digital imprint and is key in the production of your personalized Invisalign®. Each pair of Invisalign will be worn for approximately two weeks. They should be worn at all times except when eating or when going through your daily dental routine. At the end of every two weeks, you will be prescribed a new set of Invisalign (each differing slightly from the previous set). This allows your Invisalign dentist near you to monitor the progressive realignment of your teeth visually.

Why should I get Invisalign instead of regular braces?

Part of the appeal of Invisalign is that they’re not just ‘clear braces’ but are also detachable. This allows you to eat and drink most foods without any issues. With regular braces, it is recommended that you avoid sticky and hard foods as they tend to get stuck in between your braces and may cause them to come off. Invisalign also causes less pain and irritability during treatment as no metal pieces are permanently fixed onto your teeth.
